If there was anything picture perfect about the game, it was her. Being the new guy at a grad school homecoming soccer game was overwhelming. Then my best friend’s friend walked up out of the crowd, a camera hanging around her neck. She was there to shoot the game, but the moment we were introduced, the screaming crowd blurred out. I was instantly hooked by her and just how iconic she looked. I knew right then she was the most unique person I’d ever met.

It sounds simple, yet our favorite memory is a lazy summer afternoon at my mom’s house. Just the two of us, hanging out and testing new phone camera features to make funny and cool videos and photos. I remember looking at her and feeling this wave of total, relaxed happiness. The day just seemed so perfect and timeless. That unfiltered afternoon of unadulterated fun and effortless creativity is who we are at our core. We are our happiest when we are just enjoying the moment.

We’d use the $20k to launch our next chapter as a family of three. First, we’d upgrade her camera gear so she can capture every milestone of our greatest adventure yet: our one-month-old daughter, Athena. The rest goes straight into savings to fund a future dream trip to Greece. We want to wait until Athena is old enough to truly experience the magic of her namesake’s home, making memories that we will all cherish for the rest of our lives
