How did your love story begin?

In 2016, we met while teaching together. I had just left an abusive relationship, and Chris had recently ended one that wasn’t leading where he hoped. Everyone at school insisted we’d end up together, but we laughed and said, “We don’t date coworkers.” Then came our staff Christmas party. One date turned into forever, and by the end of the school year we were engaged. Looking back, everyone else saw what we couldn’t—we were exactly what each other needed.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory isn’t one day—it’s the life we’ve built together. We’ve celebrated weddings, graduations, and dream vacations, but we’ve also faced health challenges, career changes, heartbreaking loss, and family struggles. Through every season, we’ve chosen each other. We laugh often, travel whenever we can, and never lose sight of the promise we made. Our greatest memory is realizing that home isn’t a place—it’s being together.

What would you do with $20,000?

As two educators, we’d use this gift to invest in what matters most—our family. We’d create unforgettable memories on a dream vacation, help our children as they build their futures, pay down debt, and set aside savings for whatever life brings next. The money would provide breathing room, but more importantly, it would give us the chance to spend more time doing what we love most: making memories together.
