We met at work, both young cooks aspiring to be chefs. Sam had been working at a particular Michelin starred restaurant in DC for a few years and Natalia came on board as his station partner. We bonded at work over our love for cooking and kitchen camaraderie, our sense of humor, and unflinching inability to follow authority. We were an absolute nightmare to our chef, and soon after getting together we jumped ship and decided to put restaurant work behind us.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Too many to count. Our trip to Chicago where we saw Pearl Jam led us to (drunkenly) race each other on one leg down the streets of Chicago at night, giggling uncontrollably the whole way. A group of people passed by and one person said “what the hell are they doing” to which their buddy responded “that’s love right there”.
What would you do with $20,000?Get married! We’re planning our wedding and despite our best efforts, it’s looking to be incredible challenging to have all our friends and family there while staying in budget.
