Connect How did your love story begin?

We met for dinner and our dates just got better and better. I would always say to him “another perfect date courtesy of Joe Barrett.” he truly is the most romanic person I have ever been with. He may not bring flowers or cards but he brings a lovely smile and a beautiful presence. It’s like that moment when you can’t wait to see each other even with all the phone conversations and FaceTime there’s just nothing about being together in person.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We share a 31-foot Beneteau, and love being on the water. I'm not sure if it's the thrill of competing or just the peace of sailing side by side, but whenever we're out there, everything seems to click. Maybe that's part of what makes it feel so natural. We seem to communicate without words, anticipating each other's thoughts and movements. Sailing has become a reflection of the incredible bond we share. Beyond our love of sailing, we cherish our children and family.

What would you do with $20,000?

Joe and I are engaged, and if we were fortunate enough, we would love to use the money to celebrate our wedding and honeymoon. We’ve already started making a dream list, although we don’t know yet if all of those dreams will come true. Having the opportunity to make even some of them a reality would truly be a blessing. We both believe in love and the idea of living happily ever after, so I guess you could say we’re hopeless romantics. My favorite song has always been Someone to Watch Over Me.
