Sadaf’s family is from Afghanistan and my family is very American. Even though there’s cultural differences, we got married 2 days ago!
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
I used to wait by her locker in high school 11 years ago to try to talk to her. Finally one day I did! What started off as a high school romance turned into a deep love for each other. After high school, we had to keep our love story a secret because her parents didn’t approve of her having a boyfriend. I actually didn’t meet her father until a few months ago to ask for her hand in marriage. Needless to say being a secret to her family came with challenges, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Since Sadaf and I were getting more serious we decided to talk to her father about marriage. I did not realize his approval meant the wedding was going to be planned then and there. So we then had a wedding date in a few months, but I hadn’t proposed to Sadaf yet! I was stressed out trying to figure out a proper proposal to her. I then reached out to her favorite band the Jonas brothers to ask if I could propose at their concert. Joe Jonas ACTUALLY responded and I proposed in front of 3000 fans.
What would you do with $20,000?Sadaf has just graduated from college with a masters degree in psychology! I’m so proud of her! She has a real desire to keep going and earn her doctorate, however it’s not possible right now because of financials. If we won this $20,000 it would allow her to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor in Psychology!
