After losing everything in Eaton Fire, we wake each day and cherish our time together
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
On Match.com. My best friend from high school made me go online; Robert was the first person to reach out to me (Dawn). I was recently divorced, he had been for a while. Our first date was at ChaCha’s in Brea, CA. We talked for 3 hours! Our next 2 dates were within days of our first (12/19/2014). From that point forward we were together.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Oh gosh- hiking to ski hut at Mt. Baldy…I am afraid of heights but knew it was important for Robert for me to meet his friends. I was petrified but made it, had a lovely time, and he was so proud of me for going outside my comfort zone. He says it was what made him propose in Napa a few months later.
What would you do with $20,000?Without a doubt...we would go on a romantic vacation to Paris! We never had a honeymoon due to work (2019), and when we tried to go a few years later we both got covid (2021) and had to cancel our cruise. In 2025 our house burned in the Eaton Fire; we lost everything including my wedding gown, his mom’s gown, and all our wedding gifts. We have had a rough 1.5 years and this $ would allow us to start a new chapter post-fire!
