We were both members of my parents' children's theatre company, though we weren't friends at the time. He looked like a teenage frat boy, and I was a very bossy company manager. We got to know each other at a party and, remarkably, hit it off. Our first date was at a dusty bowling alley in Tucson, Arizona, and it’s been strikes ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?In over 30 years of marriage, a standout memory remains the North Hollywood mural project from our early years in Los Angeles. I was in graduate school and Rob had just finished his degree, he won a city grant for this massive undertaking and asked for my help. Rob meticulously managed the process—from sketching to painting—while we worked on scaffolding for a month. Accompanied by a crank radio the mural became a lasting piece. Its public unveiling felt like our most magical event.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, we could finally take that dream vacation—one where we don’t have to pinch pennies or obsessively scrutinize every single detail of our itinerary. Plus, I could finally upgrade my style with a collection of glasses worthy of Jeff Goldblum.
