Connect How did your love story begin?

We didn't know each other really but my husband had seen me at a community volleyball game. When he figured out who I was there were no swipe right options then so he basically cold called me and asked me out. I was caught off guard as I really did not know him. To this day he says that my response was "well I can't think of reason why not". Three dates in, we both knew there was no going back. We were engaged 6 weeks after that first date. That was over 36 years ago now.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

There are too many over our marriage to distill down to one single memory. We've raised wonderful kids who now have great lives and families of their own and raising them was incredible. But if I were to think of one favorite, as we have become empty nesters, it would be in our ability to travel as a couple. My favorite travel memory is us experiencing Istanbul, having supper on the shore of the Bosphorus in a little glass hut, looking across to Asia and knowing how incredibly blessed we are.

What would you do with $20,000?

EASY. We are wanting to downsize our home and are looking to build a small home in a new patio community in our area. Most if not all will be mature like us and probably completely NOT like minded with us so we're looking forward to enjoying the challenge. We would use the money to pay down the cost as well as contribute part to one of the organizations we are currently trying to support.
