How did your love story begin?

Jennifer and I met at Skydive Chicago in 2016. She was living on the dropzone, and I was working at a medical clinic. We were complete opposites: she was shy, serious, loving, and caring; I was outgoing, goofy, and the life of the party. She invited me back for dinner, and I brought beer. We were “just friends” at first, but once she shared her dreams of sobriety and going back to school, I knew I wanted to be part of her life.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is getting married on the beach in Playa del Carmen while staying at Xcaret. It was beautiful, emotional, and very us. There were monkeys roaming around, and everyone warned us they might steal things. Sure enough, one stole a banana right out of our hands. It was the perfect mix of romance, laughter, and chaos, which pretty much sums up our relationship.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we won $20,000, I would take Jennifer on an unforgettable vacation anywhere she wants after she graduates with her master’s degree in alcohol and drug abuse counseling. She has worked so hard, stayed over 8 years sober, graduated from NIU, and dedicated her life to helping others. Anything left would go toward bills and school debt. Life is not easy, but she deserves to be celebrated in a big way.
