Connect How did your love story begin?

In 1991 I relocated to another state and was the new girl in school. Ricco and I met in the hallway and became instant friends. We became very close, but never dated. A few months later I had just come home from a party we were both at. Once in bed, I felt a sharp pain in my chest. Moments later, the phone rang. A friend called to tell me he was hit by a car. Soon I heard the helicopter that was coming to get him. After two weeks in a coma singing to him, he squeezed my hand and woke up.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is when we reunited. After 30 years, I received a happy birthday message on social media. We made a plan to see each other. One night I called and told him I could not wait. He said where do you want to meet? I suggested we meet at the last place we saw each other- our high school parking lot. It was a cold winter solstice night. We both got out of our cars and just held each other for two hours under the full moon.

What would you do with $20,000?

Ricco has land that has been in his family for a long time. We want to invest the money to create a sustainable homestead with organic produce, herbs and flowers. The space will also include small luxe cabins people can rent for a relaxing stay and an event barn for music, community gatherings and special events.
