We are best friends who love and support each other through all of life's challenges, and with each obstacle our love grows stronger.
We would like to thank you for supporting Rebecca and Michael Royer in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our story began before we found each other. I was friends with his sister and through her I came to know his family. At that time we were both marries to other people. And then as life sometimes happens, our respective partners chose different paths, and we found ourselves in the same city facing the unexpected end of a marriage. Neither of us chose this path. But in that difficult time we found each-other. It was easy from the start. It was honest, respectful, and felt like coming home.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?The birth of our children is our favorite memory. Becoming parents was something we knew we wanted right from the start. But I had miscarriages and my pregnancies were difficult. But we faced it together and when the day came this little life was beyond imagination. We were a family.
What would you do with $20,000?We would use it to make someone else's life better. Our relationship started with change and rebuilding. We've been lifted by the kindness of others we want to do the same. We would look for the person or family with the most hardship-- someone who deserves a break. Compassion that is meaningful.
