Connect How did your love story begin?

Aaron and I met at a wedding—he was a groomsman, and I was the photographer. I noticed his piercing blue eyes and quiet, steady presence at the rehearsal dinner and may have flirted- just a bit. To my delight, he flirted back. Later, I learned he was an artist too—a musician. Though I was still healing from heartbreak, he gently told me, “No two loves are the same.” He asked for my number that weekend, and nearly five years later, we’re still choosing each other.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of my favorite memories is Aaron’s first trip to North Carolina after we met. As a small-town boy from west Texas, he had never flown before, yet he boarded a plane—with his guitar—to come see me. He serenaded me in the mountains, and I fell even harder. I taught him to ski, laughing through every wobble and fall. Most special of all was watching him meet my grandmother; they became instant friends. That trip truly felt like the beginning of home.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we won $20,000, we’d finally put a down payment on a home in our beloved western North Carolina mountains—a place to plant roots and raise our family. We dream of watching our daughter, Kit, grow wild and free, chasing make-believe fairies and forest gnomes through the woods while our sweet pup, Booker, runs beside her in our own yard. A home filled with love, laughter, and new memories—our little sanctuary at last.
