Connect How did your love story begin?

The little red thread that connects us each to the person we are meant to meet finally relaxed when we unwittingly moved into the same apartment complex. Rachel would walk past Haylie's patio every day, and every day Haylie would barter internally with making an introduction until one night, when Haylie fell off her guardrail trying to get Rachel's attention. After that, we knew. I've met you before. We've had this moment. I know you. It was profound and has lasted every day since.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It feels like every year, a new favorite memory climbs to the top of our list. From getting engaged on the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland to having a beautiful wedding with everyone we love supporting us, to dining with little kitties in a small tavern on Santorini. It feels like a Sisyphean task to choose one memory that beats the rest. Even on our lazy days at home, one joke followed by our laughs slipping together can take the spot of our favorite moment together.

What would you do with $20,000?

The Mykal's are young, gay, and recently married. Finding a home to start our lives together is the dream. Somewhere safe, somewhere stable, somewhere our pets can live a happy life with a big field. Rachel hopes to continue pursuing a career in Health Sciences, and Haylie dreams of publishing. This money would open up an opportunity to pay off student loans and buy a home that can be our landing ground, where we can be together every day.
