We found each other through a newspaper ad — and 32 years later, we're still finishing each other's sentences. Common ground is our glue. 💛
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
"Same Order, Same Fate" Orlando, 1994. A newspaper ad in the Sentinel brought two strangers together. They picked March 29th — Kerry's 29th birthday — for their first date. Over lunch at Olive Garden, they ordered the exact same beer, the exact same special, without even discussing it. A small sign of something bigger. In the parking lot, Darlene kissed Kerry goodbye — and they both just knew. That lunch was the beginning of everything.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?"The Road to Albuquerque" Only three months in, Kerry got a new job — and asked Darlene to move to Albuquerque, sight unseen. Darlene said yes. They hit the road, stopping in St. Augustine, New Orleans, San Antonio, and El Paso, collecting moments along the way. It still brings to mind that Melissa Etheridge road-trip song about driving through the night while someone you love sleeps beside you. That leap of faith became their closest thing to a real vacation — and one of their favorite memories
What would you do with $20,000?"The Vacation We've Never Had" In 32 years together, we've built a lifetime of memories — but never once taken a real vacation, just the two of us. With $20,000, we'd finally change that: two full weeks in Hawaii or Italy, no rush, no distractions. Just us, exploring, wandering, and creating the kind of unforgettable memory we've always dreamed of — together.
