Connect How did your love story begin?

Our love story started at a bus stop in Las Vegas. He was there with friends, and I was there for work. We chatted on the bus and discovered we both worked in mental health. At the time, he lived in British Columbia and I lived in Oregon, so a few weeks later we met in Seattle for our first date. The distance didn't stand a chance—we fell in love, and the rest is history.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My favorite memory is the day we got engaged. I was visiting Canada, and he spent the day showing me some of his favorite places — lunch in Whistler before driving around Vancouver. That night, he brought me to the Inukshuk at English Bay. As we stood looking over the water, he got down on one knee. At that exact moment, a shooting star streaked across the sky. It felt like the universe was celebrating with us—a moment we'll treasure forever.

What would you do with $20,000?

We've built a life we're proud of—raising two incredible kids, leaving healthcare to start our own mental health clinic, and creating a home on a farm that's become a place of connection and community. We'd use the money to take an epic family adventure as we help our kids chase their goal of visiting all 50 states, then invest in our farm to expand programs and create even more opportunities to serve our community.
