It all began on AIM. The days of MySpace and Live Journal. A mutual friend invited Vicky to drama club, and Polo was in the same facility rehearsing with his band. They locked eyes — it was love at first sight. Polo noticed Vicky’s html-coded and styled MySpace profile with “Noah’s Ark” by CocoRosie as the featured song and sent her a private message. But their story didn’t begin until two years after they met. With a big hug and an invite to string Christmas lights for Vicky’s grandparents.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory is our first concert. We went to see Social Distortion. As we were walking through tight spaces to catch a glimpse of the band, Polo reached out with his pinky finger so we wouldn’t lose each other.
What would you do with $20,000?Honestly? We would finally plan our honeymoon. The month after we got married, we moved from Texas to Kansas for college. Our honeymoon was a cobbled-together road trip where we drove friends to California and stayed with Vicky’s sister at her girlfriend’s parent’s house. That is no honeymoon. And 13 years later, we are overdue.
