Connect How did your love story begin?

Pedro and I met on December 4, 2019, at a work event in West Palm Beach, Florida. What started as a conversation between two professionals quickly became something more. When I joked that I couldn’t wait to change my last name to something more Hispanic, Pedro smiled and said, “I think I could help with that.” Later, he called his mom and told her he’d met the girl he would marry. He was 27 and swore he wouldn’t marry until 40 but God had other plans.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite memories happened just months after we started dating. I entered us into a wedding expo, and after it was canceled, we were notified that we’d won custom champagne flutes, wedding bands, and photo prints. Pedro was convinced it was a scam, but it was real! On the drive home, I joked that we could either split the prizes and go our separate ways or get married. He chose marriage. A year later, we said “I do”—and he didn’t propose until a week before the wedding!

What would you do with $20,000?

Winning $20,000 would be a tremendous blessing for our family. We recently welcomed our first baby and transitioned to living on one income when I left my job to stay home. We would fulfill and increase our pledge to our church as they work to purchase a permanent building, then use the remaining funds to pay down debt and create some financial breathing room. Most of all, it would allow us to focus more on our family and less on financial stress during this special season of life.
