Our love story began with a first date at Friendly’s Ice Cream on a cold, autumn evening. It was the night before Thanksgiving 1976. We ordered hot chocolate and talked until the restaurant closed. All these years later, we’ve gone back to Friendly’s every Thanksgiving Eve, to celebrate our love, sometimes by ourselves, or with cherished family.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memories always include joy and laughter. We’ve learned to find humor in situations and also to laugh at ourselves. Joyful moments include holding our newborns for the first time and many years later our precious grandchildren.
What would you do with $20,000?Paul and I would make this decision, like we do all big choices- together. We might use the money to have a 50th anniversary party. Maybe a portion of it will go to a favorite charity. Perhaps we’ll travel. We’re both retired educators, and have a list of destinations we’d love to visit- from National Parks to exotic beaches in Greece.
