We met on a boat in Chicago. The very first thing Allie ever said to Paul was confidently wrong. Paul thought it was hilarious, and it turned out to be a pretty accurate preview of our relationship. Allie has a lot of opinions, Paul has a lot of patience, and we both appreciate a good "I told you so". Seven years later, Allie was absolutely certain she knew when he'd propose. She was wrong about that too. Paul proposed... on a boat in Chicago. Exactly where our love story started.

It started with a phone call: "I'm sailing around the Mediterranean. Come find me." So we did. We flew to Italy, then Croatia, and spent an entire day dragging luggage through airports, ferries, and harbors trying to find a friend who wasn't even there yet. The highlight was watching Allie nearly tip over carrying a backpack bigger than she was while Paul laughed and took pictures. We were exhausted, lost, and completely winging it. It's still one of our funniest days ever.

We'd spend it on our next great adventure! Somehow our list of places to go gets longer instead of shorter, so we'd pick an epic destination, book the flights, and see where it takes us. If history is any indication, we'd probably say yes to something slightly unreasonable, involve a boat somehow, and spend the next 20 years laughing about it.
