Before Patrick ever met me, my picture was already hanging in his Army barracks. He was home on military leave when we ended up at the same place. He stared at me all night but never spoke, so I walked over to the DJ while Patrick secretly signaled for an introduction. On our first date, he discovered DJ Laz was my brother and the girl on the album poster he joked he would marry someday was me. Here’s to Twenty-three years.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Wow, that’s a big question because we’ve shared so many amazing memories. But honestly, I would have to say the homecomings after Patrick’s deployments. After months of missing him, worrying and just trying to hold everything together, seeing him walk toward us was the best feeling in the world. In that moment, he was home, he was safe, and our family was together again.
What would you do with $20,000?Honestly, we’d put the $20,000 right back into the work we love, honoring veteran and military families with surprise home makeovers. It would help cover the materials, furnishings and costs that make each transformation possible. For us, winning wouldn’t just be a prize; it would mean helping families feel seen, supported and truly at home.
