Eight years ago we fell in love. Since then we’ve grown up together, chased dreams together, and built a love rooted in friendship.
We would like to thank you for supporting Nevaeh and Emanuel in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
I was 14, he was 16, and we had one mutual friend that I added him on Snapchat through, and we talked every day until we finally met. We were both so nervous that my friends had to push me to go talk to him. He smiled, laughed, and told me, “Don’t be so shy,” even though he was just as shy. Somehow, that awkward first conversation turned into eight years growing up side by side, encouraging one another, and building a love that has only grown stronger with time.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memory isn’t one moment—it’s looking back at the love letters we wrote each other as teenagers. We still have them today, along with the memories of our first date, first dance, first kiss, and first “I love you.” Reading those letters reminds us how far we’ve come. We didn’t just grow older together—we grew into the people we are today because we always believed in each other.
What would you do with $20,000?Winning $20,000 would help us build the future we’ve been dreaming about since we were teenagers. We’d pay down debt, continue saving for our first home, invest in our education and careers, and celebrate how far we’ve come. More than anything, it would help us start the next chapter of our lives on a stronger foundation, just like we’ve spent the last eight years building our relationship.
