How did your love story begin?

Turns out our love story started long before we knew it. We unknowingly crossed paths at music camp before reconnecting in college, where we studied psychology, Spanish, and shared a music scholarship. Our friendship grew interning on a farm in the Philippines, then spent five years as "just friends" before surviving long distance. Since then: three cities, two pets, one wedding, and a pretty great life together.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Germany is still our favorite adventure. Just weeks after Jessi fractured her tibial plateau, Nate became an expert at pushing a wheelchair over cobblestone streets—powered mostly by beer, Aperol spritzes, and determination. We met Jessi's relatives, ate everything from street brats to Michelin-star meals, and proved that even with one set of working legs, we make a pretty great travel team.

What would you do with $20,000?

As two doctors in mental health, we'd use $20,000 as seed funding to build something bigger than ourselves—a community where children and families of diverse backgrounds can connect through mental health, music, sports, and culture. We want to make support more accessible, celebrate identity, and create programs that strengthen families, reduce stigma, and respond to the unique needs of the communities we serve.
