We first met in 1994 in our high school home ec. class. We only dated for a couple of weeks, but Nate was my very first high school boyfriend. Our teenage romance was short-lived, but life had other plans for us. Eight years passed then fate stepped in. Nate was at a bar waiting for a blind date who never showed. By pure coincidence, I happened to be there. My best friend made sure we reconnected, and from that moment on, we were rarely apart. Two years later, we were married.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We share so many of course having our 4 kids is an amazing highlight but I think the way we’ve supported each other through all of the hard things has created some of the best memories. Not many couples lay in bed together both with diagnosis that have them exhausted but still showing up for each other. I have a picture of us from my first day of chemo laying in his hospital bed. Definitely a never forget it moment.
What would you do with $20,000?We’ve never had an actual honeymoon between already having our first baby, paying for our first house and a wedding the funds just weren’t available. This year we’ll be celebrating 25 years of marriage and we’d love to go somewhere amazing.
