How did your love story begin?

Our journey began under challenging circumstances, as both of us (Andy and Mona) were happily married to our spouses for over 20 years. After facing the heartbreaking loss of our spouses, we sought companionship through Facebook Dating. When Andy discovered our mutual friend, he bravely reached out. What started as a simple greeting grew into a deep love, as we shared our stories of loss and resilience. Now, we are committed to building a future that honors the memory of our beloved partners.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Both of us share a passion for gaming, particularly RPGs, and have attended the same gaming convention over the years. On our first date, we discovered that we had seen each other at that convention for the past five years! While enjoying coffee at Starbucks, we began to connect over shared interests, which made us smile and laugh. It felt as if we had met a kindred spirit in each other. The gaming community has made us realize that there is so much more to life to explore together.

What would you do with $20,000?

Both Andy and I share a deep passion for travel, and this award would open the door for us to explore more of the world. One of our dream destinations is the enchanting land of Iceland, with its stunning natural beauty and unique landscapes. We are fascinated by Iceland’s commitment to harnessing geothermal energy, a marvel we are eager to witness firsthand. Additionally, we plan to stop in Ireland on our journey so Andy can delve into his family's history and trace his ancestors' roots.
