Connect How did your love story begin?

" I was a single mom at orientation for my new job as an EMT when my future husband walked into the room. My daughter was recovering from an experimental heart surgery and I was living with my parents. I was absolutely not looking for a love connection." " I was a new paramedic after a 24 hour shift visiting a friend at the orientation, my future wife was sitting next to my friend. After that we talked every day, we went from first date to proposal in 5 months" It was instant. And lasting.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

There are many, but climbing half dome in Yosemite where we honeymooned 17 years prior was a highlight. Our daughters would not join us as we had witnessed an airlift rescue off the dome the previous day, but we were determined as we had both recovered from serious injury and were almost 40. It was the most magical and challenging day, we sent silly pics from the top, got lost on the way down, and ran to finish line pizza. We celebrated at the Ahwahnee hotel the next day with the whole family.

What would you do with $20,000?

We love to adventure together, and our favorite way to travel is with Werner, our 1986 VW Westfalia van. We have seen the most beautiful places and met the most amazing people in places that are not possible without Werner. From parks and BLM land to van meetups and music festivals we have created an eclectic travel log that lives in the glove box. We would love to upgrade our home on wheels so we can keep on adventuring.
