How did your love story begin?

Our love story began with a glance across a church sanctuary. I was 12, Mike was 14, and the moment I saw him, I thought he was the cutest boy I’d ever seen. He still remembers exactly what I was wearing that day. I made sure I never missed a Sunday after that! What started as childhood butterflies grew into a lifetime of choosing each other. This September we’ll celebrate 40 years of marriage, and after all this time, he’s still the first person I look for and the love of my life.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory isn’t one moment—it’s a lifetime of choosing each other. We’ve raised three children and are blessed with five grandchildren. We’ve held each other through our oldest child’s battle with leukemia and the sudden loss of my father, celebrated victories, laughed until we cried, and leaned on our faith through every season. After nearly 40 years of marriage, we’re still best friends. That’s the greatest gift our love has given us.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we were fortunate enough to win, we’d put the $20,000 toward the inground pool we’ve always dreamed of. For us, it isn’t just about a pool—it’s about creating a place where our children, five grandchildren, family, and friends can gather, laugh, celebrate milestones, and make memories together. After 40 years of building a life centered on love and family, there’s no better way we could use this gift than to keep bringing the people we love together.
