Connect How did your love story begin?

We both were moving out of Texas, and just decided to go a date after meeting through tinder. Neither of us believed in love, we just were practicing dating for social skills. On our first date, we went to get coffee and wine, then go to an art show. By the middle of the first cup of coffee, we were enamored with each other, it really seemed like only fate could bring us together. We stayed for a few hours drinking coffee, then switching to wine. The date lasted forever.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

After we both moved out of Texas, we kept in touch everyday - after a few weeks, Michael called to tell me how much he missed me. I off handedly offered to pay for half of a plane ticket for the next day - he agreed and hoped on a plane the next morning. This was the first time he said I love you to me.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would put the $20,000 towards our house. Neither of us were able to grow up in a stable home growing up; Michael having to live with family and my mom and I facing evictions and having to couch surf. By a miracle, we are able to be first generation home owners, but that comes with a lot of responsibility and sacrifice. We would use the money to mostly fix up our home, and a small portion of it to go on a date to our favorite soup restaurant.
