After being best friends for 25 years, we became a couple in 2024 and we married in 2026. I can honestly say I married my best friend!
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
When I was 13, I started high school in a new district & saw him in a crowd of students preparing to leave on a retreat. Looking back, it was probably love at first sight. He actually rejected me when I told him that I had a crush on him then, but we stayed in close contact for 25 years & developed a deep friendship. After my second marriage ended, romantic feelings for him resurfaced and I tried to approach him a second time at 38. This time, the feeling was mutual and we’ve never been happier!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?By far our wedding day! We had a small wedding with just immediate family and close friends as guests, all of whom had been rooting for us to become a couple for the better part of 25 years. So, the marriage felt like the culmination of many people’s hopes and dreams; not just our own. We also practiced a “Dancing with the Stars”-type choreographed first dance routine complete with lifts, etc. that was a surprise for the guests. They loved it!
What would you do with $20,000?We would probably use the prize to supplement a down payment to purchase land and build our dream home!
