Connect How did your love story begin?

When Matt decided to get sober, he had no idea that the same day my world was falling apart. My daughter’s biological father had cheated, my family had broken apart & I was trying to rebuild my life. 9 months later, fate stepped in when Matt got dragged to a Halloween party he didn’t even want to attend. We met, instantly connected, and have been choosing each other ever since, I even stopped drinking to walk in life sober with him, What started as two broken stories became one redemption story.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It’s impossible to choose just one. Watching Matt legally adopt my daughter and become the dad she deserved was unforgettable. After four years of trying to conceive, our son was born and spent time in the NICU. In that difficult moment, Matt looked at me and said, “Thank you for giving me him.” And when MOGAD stole Matt’s ability to walk, I had the privilege of watching him fight his way back, step by step. Our favorite memories aren’t the easy ones, they’re the moments we overcame together.

What would you do with $20,000?

First, we would use it to catch up on bills and finally breathe a little easier after years of medical challenges and financial stress. Then we’d invest in our future by putting Matt through the fire academy without the constant worry of how we’ll afford it. Becoming a firefighter is his dream, and this opportunity would help turn that dream into reality while giving our family the stability we’ve worked so hard to build.
