We met at church, were both youth workers. I said “hi” to him one Sunday morning after he’d been away, and he asked me out. Married in 1982. Taught Sunday School together, raised three kids, now have two grands.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?In 2012, before they tore down (to rebuild and expand) our church, we renewed our vows for our 30th anniversary, with our kids singing and reading the Scripture passage from our original ceremony. Finds were a little tight, so we planned a “reception” either our family and friends at a pizzeria; our kids, in their early 20s, upgraded us to a lovely restaurant.
What would you do with $20,000?Pay off our mortgage, and maybe take a trip to Paris — I’m a longtime French teacher (Madame Isselée) and have taken all our kids on school trips to Paris, the Côte d’Azur, and Normandy, but never Mark, whose ancestry is Belgian French, a descendant of Charlemagne.
