How did your love story begin?

I was 15 riding my bike one day at the naval base because I had a game that night I played baseball and My dad was the commander of the base that I practiced at on the ball field I saw this cute guy he was practicing baseball on the field that I was headed to. I yelled out does anyone wanna practice with me and he came over first and for whatever reason I snatched his hat and ran he chased me to get his hat back and 3 months later we were married.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

For me, was when we were dating he took me to an amusement park next one was him taking me to a drive-in movie theater, which my mom gave him the money to get us in so essentially she paid for the date me 15 him 19 I was in love butterflies and all. I did try to dump him but we kept running into each other I thought my parents would flip when they found out but it turned out my dad married us being a Col. in the army 48 years later we are still going strong and I can’t wait till my 50th anniv.

What would you do with $20,000?

I think we would do the honeymoon that we never had with him being military we had to travel right away. I never even had my first dance at my wedding until our 40th anniversary and I literally had my very first dance when we renewed our vowels and there’s a funny story behind that one as well. and as of today we just had our 48th anniversary June 15. We were married 1978 just a young 15-year-old and a young 19-year-old military man we have four beautiful children and five grandchildren.
