We've been married 24 years and he insists we are still on our honeymoon. I am willing to forgive, he is willing to forget. Partners always.
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
We met at work and at first I was not interested. But we became friends, supporting each through divorces and childrearing, and he made me laugh. We became more than friends. We started to look for a house together, to give his children a home. We weren't going to get married. He was going to get a house for him and his daughters. I would come and stay during the weekends. Then one night he presented a hypothetical idea. "What would our marriage 'look' like, if we chose to get married?"
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? What would it look like if we decided to get married, he asked, over our dinner at the local truck stop. We weren't going to do that, I said. We agreed we wouldnt get married, that we would live in sin together for the rest of our lives. But since this is hypothetical.., I said. And we talked about money, kids, how to handle step parenting, how to handle bills, and housework since I am no good at it. And when dinner was over we were getting married.
What would you do with $20,000?Maybe we would go on that honeymoon we never got. Maybe we would pay for house repairs that we need desperately. Or pay off some debt, especially since my husband needs to retire in the fall. We aren't poor, but we aren't wealthy either and $20,000 would help.
