Connect How did your love story begin?

I, Lorena, had a smoothie place and his mom was one of my clients who invited him to stop by. It wasn’t love at first sight, but we kept crossing paths and slowly built something real. My aunt, who worked with me, was convinced we should date before we even said it out loud. After many “so… are you going to ask me out?” moments, we finally had our first dinner date. He was a gentleman from the start, and after the holidays, we had our first kiss… and 13 years later, here we are.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite memories is traveling to Uruguay, his birth country, after he hadn’t been back for almost 20 years. Watching him reconnect with his family, show me where he grew up, and explore places that meant so much to him was really special. It felt like I got to see a whole other piece of his story come alive, while also making new memories together in a place that now feels meaningful to both of us.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’d use part of it to support our parents and give back a little to the people who’ve always supported us. We’re also focused on building our retirement and would put some into savings and investments, plus pay down debt. As we grow our family, some would go toward that new chapter too. And of course, we’d set aside a little for a trip somewhere new, good food, new places, and quality time together, which is kind of our favorite thing anyway.
