Connect How did your love story begin?

My junior year of high school (1997), I had told my brother that I thought Lane was cute. My brother insisted that I call him & ask him on a date, which I did. Then, I needed a date for prom & decided to ask Lane as we had hung out a couple times. Lane was a sophomore, which meant I had to ask him... he said yes. There was no pressure on becoming a couple, we just wanted to have fun. About a month or so later, Lane asked me to officially be his "boyfriend", and the rest is history.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We have been a couple for 29 years now, so picking one is VERY hard. I would have to say my favorite memory is when Lane proposed. We were at a secluded waterfall in Hawaii and the setting was absolutely magical. I have too many words to properly describe the cherished day, but I was totally surprised and fell in love with him even more after. It was the first full day of our vacation and it truly set a BEST vibe for the rest of the vacation... and the start of our official union together.

What would you do with $20,000?

We have created a beautiful home together, but would like to do some upgrades. I would like to remodel our bedroom and create a cozy and comfortable space for us to truly relax and unwind in. I would also LOVE to go back to Kauai where we got engaged. Our 20 year wedding anniversary is next year and I would love to go back to the place where he proposed.
