Connect How did your love story begin?

We originally met online and I (Laila) was working multiple jobs to support myself so I asked him (Dane) if he wanted to help me do DoorDash and we could get to know each other in the process because I had already planned to do extra work, he said yes, I picked him up in my car and honestly he never left, I would pick him up whenever I was doing DoorDash and we fell in love. No fancy dates, no nothing, just two hardworking kids at the time holding space for each other in our busy life’s.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

I (Laila) have been dealing with medical issues for the past couple months and when Dane proposed to me he told me that “it didn’t matter if I was going to be sick even if it’s forever, he will love me all the same, do what I can’t and pick up the heavy load when I can’t carry it because he chose me for who I was and not what I can bring” Dane held true on that and now works two jobs while I’m to working on getting better.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would pay of some of my medical debt, pay off a good chunk of our shared car, put some towards Dane’s school debt and save the rest for our future life and kids, we won’t bring kids into this world until we can afford to give them the world, so we need to start saving up now.
