Connect How did your love story begin?

We were 12 years young, I saw him and was in love. We finally locked eyes once. All his friends lined up to ask me out but I was waiting for him, he didn’t want to be like everyone else so I was pushed in from of him by a mutual friend. My first words were “Will you be my boyfriend?” He said yes and we were inseparable, we kept in touch after our families moved. We got cell phones in highschool, he bought me a plane ticket to visit when we were 16! Then he picked me up to live with him at 22.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One favorite memory is when Kyle came to Wisconsin to spend Thanksgiving with my family and bring me back to live with him in San Diego. We spent 10 years apart after moving away from each other as 13 year olds. He took me to the exact spot we became boy friend and girlfriend at 12, and asked me to be his girlfriend! It was romantic and so sentimental. We have been together ever since! Married less than a year after reuniting :)

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000 we would invest a portion and then have a wedding celebration to renew our vows! We eloped and only had his parents there, I would love to have photos and an actual wedding with more family and friends to witness. We would then go on a trip for our honeymoon, we celebrate 13 years of marriage in a few months and it’s been a renewed love this year! With any left, we would put it towards acquiring a plot on the Navajo reservation to lock in for generations!
