We spent years circling the same world. Then kismet stepped in, and we found our home in each other, rooted in love, adventure and growth.
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
We met for 4 minutes at Burning Man and did not see each other at the event again - but these four minutes were enough to learn that for more than 10 years, we lived 10 minutes from each other and circled the same gym, and communities, and yet never consciously crossed path. Looking back, it feels like the universe was simply waiting for the perfect moment. Once back home we connected, and we've been inseparable ever since. Sometimes it's all about perfect timing.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Impossible to pick just one! Halfway through our first date, Kris asked Mel on a second date for the very next day. Six weeks later, Mel joked that she might go as Cleopatra on Halloween, and Kris could just be her Caesar, to both of our surprises we showed up in full attire. Kris bday often falls short because it's before Christmas, so Mel got a bunch of his friends together last year to celebrate early. And just last week, Kris planted sunflowers in their garden because they're Mel's favorite.
What would you do with $20,000?Adding it to our wedding budget, Mel's entire family is in Germany, Kris' immediate family is in the US, with extended family in Hungary. Our goal is to find a venue that is easily accessible for all of our loved ones, to celebrate our bond together.
