In 2015, Andy sent a single message to Kira on a dating app that hooked her right away. He said “I can tell by your pictures you’re really creative, what’s your favorite art form?” We went to the Minneapolis Art Institute for our first date and connected over our love of music, architecture and modern art. We’ve been inseparable ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?In 2018 we went to northern Minnesota along Lake Superior. Andy was planning on proposing that weekend and had rented out a boat for sunset. The weather had other plans and the boat ride was cancelled due to high winds. So Andy took us to our favorite spot on the rocks along the lake. As huge waves crashed into the shore and sprayed us with water, Andy proposed. It ended up being a truly romantic and unique proposal.
What would you do with $20,000?When we got married in 2018, we didn’t have the money for a wedding and a honeymoon because Kira needed a surgery shortly after. We would use the money to have a proper wedding party to celebrate with our family and friends, and finally be able to take the European honeymoon we’ve been dreaming about for 9 years.
