How did your love story begin?

We met at 2 a.m. outside a bar after my car was towed, leaving my friend and me stranded. Tommie and his friend offered us a ride home. We reluctantly said yes. thankfully, they weren't serial killers! I was instantly charmed by his humor and adorable smile. When he left without asking for my number, I boldly said, "Wouldn't it be easier to call me if you had it?" The next day was our first date. Six weeks later, we were engaged. Nearly 40 years later we are still each other’s favorite people.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It wasn’t one romantic evening It all started on the dance floor. Tommie and I loved to dance, and somehow we always seemed to move perfectly together. People would sometimes ask if we'd taken lessons, but we never had. We were just two people completely in love, and forgetting the rest of the world existed. Our favorite memory is that feeling of being young, carefree, and so happy together that others could feel how in love we were!

What would you do with $20,000?

For nearly 40 years, we've made the most of wherever life has taken us, even if it wasn't very far from home. If we won $20,000, we'd finally go on a few of the adventures we've put off for "someday." We've always been happy just being together, but imagine us, still in love and tearing up a dance floor in Italy or Paris. That sounds like the perfect sequel to our love story.
