What became our first official date was actually planned before we got together romantically. Kate had won tickets to Taylor Swift’s Fearless concert and knew the only person she wanted to share the second ticket with was her best friend, Wesley, because he was a huge OG Swiftie too. A few days after sharing the exciting news, we both expressed our feelings for each other, which turned our upcoming TS concert into the best first date ever!

On our first date, Wesley had snuck Hello Kitty cupcakes in his backpack into the box suite where our seats were. He used one of the Hello Kitty rings from a cupcake to “propose” in a “someday we’ll do this for real” type of way. Fast forward 5 years and Wesley recreated that whole first date but at Taylor Swift’s 1989 concert this time, proposing with a real engagement ring. The whole night Kate thought the “big surprise” was going to a TS concert, and had no idea what was in store.

We have a really beautiful and BIG dream of building a place called The Star Village, which will be a sacred gathering place and venue for spiritual practitioners of all mystical paths to be their authentic selves, express themselves creatively through writing, music, and art, and have access to local artisan shops, performances, magically-themed restaurants and cafes, temples and wisdom schools, and more. Winning this $20,000 will directly support bringing that vision to life!
