She drew us before we ever dated. That sketch became our love story—10 years later, we’re still creating our masterpiece together.
Help us share our love story in Variety, take home $20,000, and go on a triple date with Jeff & Emilie Goldblum and Charlie Day & Mary Elizabeth Ellis!
Our love story began with a drawing. Before we ever started dating, Karin sketched a picture of me and my son, Jonathan, playing pool. That thoughtful gesture sparked a friendship that quickly grew into something much deeper. Ten years later, we've built a life filled with love, laughter, resilience, and unwavering support for one another. What started with a simple drawing became the masterpiece of our lives.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memory is the day we got engaged. We attended a special screening of The Princess Bride, followed by a live Q&A with Cary Elwes. Afterward, I got down on one knee and proposed. During the meet-and-greet, Cary became the very first person to congratulate us, making our fairy-tale moment even more magical and unforgettable.
What would you do with $20,000?Winning $20,000 wouldn't change who we are—it would help us build the future we've worked so hard for. We'd use it to ease everyday financial pressures, create lasting memories with our family, and pay forward the kindness we've been shown. More than the prize, we hope our story reminds people that genuine love, built on friendship, perseverance, and laughter, is always worth believing in.
