How did your love story begin?

We met on a dating app in 2022, but fate had apparently been trying to introduce us for years. His high school girlfriend went to my high school, my high school boyfriend went to his, we went to each other’s proms with different dates, shared mutual friends, and even lived in the same neighborhood. On our first date, Ryan tried to impress me by telling me he’s Sammy Davis Jr.’s grandson. My response? “Who?” We’ve been laughing together ever since. Living proof that fate has it’s own agenda.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of our favorite memories was planning our wedding in Barbados, where my family is from. After several trips, we chose a venue on the same beach where my family once owned property, which felt like fate. Then, on our wedding day, it poured rain. While I worried about the weather, Ryan told me that rain on our wedding day means the people (my grandparents) in heaven are crying happy tears. From that moment on, the rain felt like a blessing, and made our day even more special and beautiful.

What would you do with $20,000?

Winning $20,000 would be an incredible blessing for us. We’re both working toward careers we’re truly passionate about. I hope to return to teaching, a profession that has always been close to my heart, and Ryan is pursuing his dream of becoming a financial advisor. We would use the money to invest in education and professional development so we can reach our career goals. One day, when we have children, we hope they’ll see that we chased our dreams together and built a life we’re proud of.
