We’ve survived what should’ve broken us, built a stronger love, and now inspire others by simply being ourselves.
We would like to thank you for supporting Karen and Andrew in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met at 12 and became a couple at 16. Over the years we’ve faced challenges that could have broken us apart, but instead they made us stronger. We’ve grown up together, raised a family, rebuilt our lives, and learned that real love isn’t about never struggling—it’s about never giving up on each other. More than 20 years later, we’re still each other’s favorite person. ❤️
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memories are the births of our two daughters and the journey of raising them together. Watching them grow into strong, confident, independent young women has been our greatest accomplishment. After leaving a high-control religion, being able to give our girls the freedom to think for themselves, chase their dreams, and become exactly who they want to be has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d use the award to give our family experiences we never had growing up. A dream vacation together would be our first priority—creating memories, seeing new places, and celebrating the freedom to build the life we’ve always wanted for ourselves and our daughters.
