Connect How did your love story begin?

We met online and became gaming buddies. We decided to meet in person and go to an arcade near me (we lived an hour away from one another) that had just opened up. We both arrived and the arcade was closed for the day. So I gave him a tour of my city. I was so nervous! I kept knocking things over and tripping everywhere we went. I thought he’d never speak to me again, but he was smitten. He asked at the end of the hangout to see me again in a couple days. We’ve been best friends ever since.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Neither of us wanted a traditional reception, so we decided to host it at our local retro arcade where we had also had our first date. It was the best decision we could’ve possibly made. By the reception, the weight of the day was completely gone. Everyone let loose and had a ton of fun. We all played games. Strangers were now teammates, and the people we loved were all gaming like old friends. The energy in that arcade was electric. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and it was all ours.

What would you do with $20,000?

Juwan is leaving the military soon. With me being unable to work due to my disability and a huge life and career change for him coming up, our future is scary at best. We would use it to create a solid foundation for us to build our future upon, including paying off debt and potentially moving to a new location if his future job requires it. Our home has a crumbling foundation that desperately needs fixing. Between those three major issues, that is how we would allocate the money.
