Our story began in college, proving that timing is everything. I was a junior transfer and she was a freshman when we crossed paths at a campus club meeting. We didn't see each other again until the very last day before winter break—a fleeting moment that changed everything. The second we got back for the spring semester, I tracked down her number through a mutual friend. By the end of that semester, we were falling in love, and we haven't looked back since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Becoming grandparents four years ago when our grandson was born. It didn't feel like a conclusion; it felt like the opening chapter of a brand-new book. Since then, our family has grown to include two granddaughters and three great-nieces/nephews. Navigating this lively, love-filled phase together as we head toward retirement has been the ultimate joy. It completely redefined our future and showed us just how much love we still have to give.
What would you do with $20,000?After a lifetime of putting our family first, raising our kids, and welcoming grandkids, this $20,000 would fund the ultimate victory lap: a dream trip to explore Europe. We’ve been married longer than we haven't, and we’ve spent decades building a life together. This prize would let us realize a lifelong dream of exploring new cities, cultures, and cuisines side-by-side as we head toward retirement.
