John and I met while working at our current employer. I always say I was his manager for two weeks, but he always says he was changing roles anyway. We don’t interact much for several months until we were on a project together. We spent more time together, shared our life stories, and eventually talked about our marriages. Both of our marriages were unhappy. We both were going through therapy, a lot of heartache, and soul searching. After developing a great friendship, we began casually dating.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory as a couple would be our wedding day story. We were supposed to marry on a Saturday but Hurricane Irma was bearing down on Florida. John came to my desk, asked if I had any meetings for the remainder of the day, and casually said “We have to get to the court house before 3:00 because they’re closing due to the Hurricane”. I changed in the car, John changed in the restroom at the court house, and we bought flowers at Publix for my bouquet.
What would you do with $20,000?We would pay off some of our debt and maybe take a long weekend vacation. Our kids play sports so we can’t be away for too long because we don’t want to miss a game.
