We fell in love 27 years ago, but the real secret is that we never stopped being friends. We built a business together, solved problems together, rescued animals together, traveled the world together, and somehow still genuinely enjoy each other’s company. We laugh every day, rarely spend time apart, and after all these years, we’re still each other’s favorite person. Love brought us together. Friendship is what has kept us together.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?It’s hard to choose just one because our favorite memories are usually the ordinary ones. Together, we’ve fostered more than 300 kittens and dogs, watching scared animals learn to trust before finding loving homes. Those moments have taught us patience, teamwork, and compassion. We’ve realized the greatest things we’ve built together aren’t businesses or places—they’re lives changed, one family and one rescue at a time.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d invest it the same way we’ve invested the last 25 years—into things that outlast us. We’d continue fostering rescue animals, help preserve the 150-year-old French château we’re restoring as a place to gather family and friends, and create experiences that bring people together. We’ve learned that the best investments aren’t possessions—they’re the lives you touch, the memories you create, and the legacy you leave together.
