Our love story began in 1989 at Brownwood High School. I was a freshman, Becky a sophomore. A friend and I bet we'd ask out the next girl who walked into the Student Center. That girl was Becky. With help from a mutual friend, I asked her to see King Ralph. She said yes. I still remember her blue jean skirt and red-and-black plaid shirt. That simple bet led me to the love of my life.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory began when I retired from the City of Brownwood in 2019 and we moved to New Braunfels to start a new chapter together. Right after unpacking, we set off on a one-week cruise. From exploring three beautiful ports to relaxing side by side on the deck, it was the perfect escape. The quiet moments we shared together made it one of the happiest and most unforgettable memories of our lives.
What would you do with $20,000?To be completely honest, we're waiting for Becky to fully recover from her cancer surgery before making our dream trip. Once she's healed, we'd love to visit Paris together—seeing all the romantic landmarks, strolling hand in hand through the beautiful streets, and simply taking in the sights. After everything we've been through, sharing that journey together would mean the world to us.
