We met online playing Tetris. I flew out to meet him and we fell in love. Now it's 5 years later and we're getting engaged this summer.
We would like to thank you for supporting Jess and Joel in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our love story began on the streaming website, Twitch. I stumbled across someone playing Tetris 99. Joel was in that stream and the best player around. We clicked instantly. Him and I started playing Tetris together privately and I slowly developed feelings for him. After a few months, I flew to Chicago from Las Vegas to meet him. That was almost 5 years ago now. I love him more than anything in the world!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? My favorite memory is a simple one. It's from one of the first trips I took to see him. He was standing behind me while I was getting something from my bag and he nervously asked "are your pants on backwards?" I immediately reached for the draw strings on my sweats and realized they weren't there and my pants were indeed on backwards. That was the first time we belly laughed together and I smile every time I think about that memory.
What would you do with $20,000?After taking care of some bills and putting some money away for a few months of rent, we would take a trip to celebrate our engagement that is happening next month. Joel left his friends and family in Chicago so he could move to Vegas to be with me and he doesn't get to visit home often. I would love to book an extra long trip for us to Chicago so we can properly celebrate our engagement with his parents and best friends. ♥️
