Connect How did your love story begin?

We met in Vegas 😊 I am an educator, and at the time I was an elementary teacher. I made friends with Chris’s cousin and we went to Las Vegas for her friend’s bachelorette party. Chris was living out in Nevada taking care of his grandma after losing his job in Chicago during the recession of 2008. My friend’s mom called him and said that his cousin and her friends were coming out and could use a guide to help them find fun places. I suppose what happens in Vegas sometimes follows you back home!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It’s a toss up between going to NYC together (his first and only time) and seeing a Chicago Bears game (my first and only time). Both experiences were amazing, but because we experienced these adventures together it made it even more special than before. I got to see him experience NYC in all its splendor, which he loved. He got to witness me hearing F*ck Green Bay repeatedly even through we were playing the Raiders. We both did these things separately, but together - it’s at a different level.

What would you do with $20,000?

Our bucket list trip is to Greece. We would love a chance to experience something neither or us have seen. With the economy the way it is- having a family of 5 with never ending bills- this seems like something out of reach, at least at the moment. Of course, we are open to anything with that money! It would be great to take the family.
